Drainfield and Leach Field Installation
Drainfield and Leach Field Installation in Conroe
The drainfield is where treated effluent leaves the tank and disperses into the soil, and it is the part of a septic system most likely to fail when it is undersized or overloaded. Opacityindex builds gravel trench and plastic chamber (gravelless) fields for Conroe properties, each one sized to the perc rate so the ground can absorb the flow without surfacing near the yard or the 77304 property line.
Why the Field Size Matters
A leach field that is too small for the soil will saturate and push effluent to the surface, which is both a health hazard and a permit violation in Montgomery County. We size the field from the soil percolation test, not a rule of thumb, and we honor the four feet of vertical separation the county wants between the trench bottom and the seasonal high water table. On a slow clay lot near a creek, that may mean an engineered mound instead of a flat field.
Our Process
We lay out the trenches to the design, place washed drainfield gravel or leaching chambers over a level base, set the perforated distribution pipe on grade, and wrap the gravel in geotextile filter fabric so soil does not clog it. The distribution box splits flow evenly across every lateral. We schedule the county inspection before backfill, then restore the surface off Gladstell Street clean.
